RE: Want to use 2 Laptops

Purchased one of these (cradlepoint router) works great, you plug your aircard into the router, the router small has an onboard battery that will run 2 hours on battery power. Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif

RE: $^@#@&#^ WIND!

Ripsnort I would use the aluminum ones, they are easier to compress, usually corrosion is not much of a problem, no need for a special tool Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif

RE: $^@#@&#^ WIND!

If the door is not damaged too much, and you want to repair the stripped holes to re-mount the mirror assembly. I have used a product called nutsert, they come in various thread sizes and can be installed with bolt, threaded rod and compress the blind side on the interior of the door (link to animation) The other way would be to remove the door panel and install bolts (through the mirror bracket through the door panel) with nuts and washers on the instde of the door. RE: HELP ! New Direct TV Satelite and can't get it working

When I have made a mount for the dish, I found that the the vertical pipe MUST be at 90 deg to the horizon, so if you can put a small bubble level on the vertical pipe and make sure that the bubble is in the middle, some of the dish mounts have a bubble level that will mount on the top of the vertical pipe, so you can be sure of the 90 deg. position. Once the pipe is straight, you can go to the 50 deg on elevation, then slowly turn the dish across the 180 deg area. I have also found that the sat reciever is much more sensitive than a sat finder Good Luck Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif

RE: Anyone using a wind generator for 12 volt battery charging

I have used a southwest powerAirX wind generator for the last 2 years, (many on this forum criticize the wind generators, and they do not have one or ever used one) sometimes I think they would rather listen to a generator than an windmill "JMO" Depends what you consider expensive, a 130 watt solar panel costs around $600.00 I know I have 3 of them, plus you need a voltage regulator another $200.00 to $600.00 depending which one you need. An AirX is between $500.00 to $600.00 has a built in regulator. previous post of a wind generator question Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif

RE: Altimeter

from my experience, many moons ago, an altimeter from an older small aircraft needs to be adjusted for the current barometric pressure to be accurate, gps is a no brainer. Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif

RE: Powering your laptop

I also use a 1000 watt inverter connected to the truck battery, by adding a couple of outlet circuits I can run the laptop, charge the cell phone with the 110 volt adaptor, charge batteries while I drive, use an electric chain saw when needed (ooops don't tell the rangers in Yellowstone) Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif

RE: September Colorado or Black Hills SD snow chances?

Leaving the house can be dangerous ! Loosly plan the trip, go with the flow, check weather reports, if it snows, stay in one place for more than one day, if it snows it will be melted by then. It can snow in the black hills too. The good thing is, no need for the air conditioner Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif
